Why did you join the Junior League?
“I honestly joined the Junior League because I wanted to meet women who have similar interests. And I’ve developed some of my greatest friendships along the way!”
What was your favorite placement and why?
“My favorite placement in JLO up until now has been chairing the American Girl Fashion Show. It was such a great way to get to know a group of women over an entire weekend spent together. However, I am currently chairing the New Member Committee, and have been thoroughly enjoying that, so it may be a toss-up between the two!”
What is your favorite thing about living in Omaha?
“It’s small enough to be able to get around easily, but large enough to have new things coming up all the time – boutiques, restaurants etc. The Aksarben area and Midtown Crossing have been great additions, and the Old Market has grown even from years ago.”
What is your favorite restaurant(s) in Omaha?
“I’m a big fan of happy hour so I love places like Kona, Roja and Blue. I absolutely love sushi, so Blue probably makes the top of the list! But then I’m also a fan of some classic places, like M’s Pub.”
What is your favorite season and why?
“I love the fall. I love everything about it – football, colored leaves, jeans and boots, bonfires, open windows, pumpkins/squash, and most importantly Halloween!”
If I could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
“I would really love to be a fly on the wall in someplace like Skid Row. I know it sounds crazy, but I’m always curious about people and places that I’m unlikely to experience first-hand.”
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?
“I generally read most books only once, even if I really enjoy them. However, I do recall reading The Remains of the Day many years ago, and loving it enough to read it again, It contains such great themes, including loyalty and dignity.”
What is your favorite television show?
“Right now, I have been loving the show Scandal. It never ceases to surprise me!”
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
“It’s somewhat cliche, but my mother used to say “Learn to say no.” That’s a hard one for many of us (and I think was hard for my mother as well!), but really speaks to prioritizing and finding balance in life.”
What is one of your favorite quotes?
“Do a little more each day than you think you possibly can.” – Dove Chocolate Quote
