Why did you join the Junior League? Many of my friends were JLO members and I thought it was a great opportunity to become more involved in the community.
What was your favorite placement and why? I served on the communications committee as the JLO Photographer. I met lots of wonderful people while taking pictures of projects and league activities.
What is your favorite thing about living in Omaha? Omaha is a wonderful place to raise a family with good schools, friendly neighborhoods and a lively arts and entertainment scene.
What are your favorite restaurant(s) in Omaha? Our neighborhood has terrific restaurants: Avoli, Dario’s, J. Coco’s and Marks. If we venture to the Old Market we like the ambiance at M’s Pub and Taxis is a favorite as well.
What other organizations are you affiliated with? Omaha Town Hall, Omaha Law League and the Omaha Symphony Guild
What is your favorite song? “Leaving on a Jet Plane” by Peter, Paul and Mary. When my husband and I were dating I lived in Minneapolis and he was a law student in New York City. One of us was always leaving on a jet plane. We became engaged after a Peter, Paul and Mary concert in Minneapolis.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? Meet friends for coffee or lunch followed by a visit to Joslyn Art Museum or a walk at Lauritzen Gardens perhaps squeezing in a bridge game too.
What is your favorite season and why? Definitely Fall. I love the autumn colors and the crisp, cool air.
If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go? Australia and New Zealand
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? “Wonder” by R. J. Palacio: I read this book this summer with my daughter and my ten-year old grandson. It is a book that gives a powerful message about kindness and acceptance.
What is your favorite television show? Downton Abbey
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? My volunteer experience led me to two very different careers: Executive Director of a historic preservation non-profit and wedding coordinator at my church.
